We have three children who have had the remarkable privilege of working with Kevin Leon, Brian Mueca, and Daffodil Gamayon. These three individuals have been such awe-inspiring mentors to our children, both in the dance studio, as well as life in general, in more ways than we could have ever imagined.

Brian Mueca was born to be a dance teacher. The passion that he projects in his classes is larger than life. You can tell he loves what he does and cares about the students. He sets a high standard for the students but helps them to achieve their absolute best. Brian understands the dance industry, he knows how to produce a top ranked dancer and is willing to invest his time and energy into each and every child. We flew Brian to Western Canada to work with our students and the experience was amazing! Brian is a dedicated choreographer with an ear for music and has great instincts when it comes to detail. My son started dance at 13 years old. Due to his Vitiligo and ADHD struggles, my son's self esteem/ self image was low. We decided to put Nicky in a dance class while we would wait for his sister who dances as well. Under the training and guidance over the past 5 years, through the Mentorship of Kevin, Brian and Daffi, my son has blossomed into a self confident, strong young man who is on his way to becoming a professional dancer. Through their direction and guidance, Nicky holds a national title amongst many 1st place wins, convention scholarships, dance intensive scholarships, and invites for ballet, contemporary and hip hop. He has had the opportunity to travel with Velocity dance convention, was on a national TV show, was featured in an International Dance Magazine for top boy dancer and performed in Rudy Abreu JA Collective Show. Nicky is also signed with a top agency in LA. His dreams are coming true because Kevin, Brian and Daffi believe in the children they teach and will work as hard as the kids do to get them to their dreams.

Kevin Leon has made such an impact on my personal and professional life for so many years. We met while I was working and managing professional shows in Las Vegas and as we both grew out of the performance aspect and into the studio environment our paths collided again! Kevin's background is not just in technique or dance but his true skill and contribution lies in his artistic voice, the honest relationship he shares with his students and his dedication to finding the BEST VERSION of each of his students! At my studio, I have brought Kevin in to teach routinely over the past five years. He has taught master classes, set choreography, been a guest judge for our rehearsals and done private lessons. At the same time, he gives them the necessary tools and instruction needed to achieve those standards. In the dance classroom, Kevin invests in all of his students. While he can inspire the most talented in the room, he is also passionate about the dancers that might not be in the front row. I have experienced first hand, through teaching beside him, that he truly cares and wants all students to leave his classroom better than when they walked in.

On the stage, Kevin's work is well rounded and entertaining. Kevin understands the value of training in all disciplines and genres. His choreography is the perfect blend of classic and cutting edge. Watching his dancers on stage execute his work, it is evident that they have solid technique and are well versed in expression. Artistry and technique are two things that radiate from every piece I have ever seen of Kevin's - it's truly a gift. He can deliver an entertaining musical theatre line with 50+ dancers, and also a small group contemporary piece that leaves you breathless. His choreographic range is impressive.

My children started training with Kevin 4 and 5 years ago and in a very short amount of time, they quickly grew from intermediate dancers to advanced dancers. Over the past 2 years Brian and Daffi joined the team and they have brought so much love and passion with them.

Their students are comfortable facing any challenge they are confronted with. Anytime my children take the stage I am simply wowed by their growth and performance. We moved to Las Vegas 6 years ago due to work, and in the process of finding a dance studio for our daughter, we found Kevin Leon. From our first meeting at a Power Pak event through today, he has remained the same genuine individual who will do anything to take care of his students. They are not only outstanding dance instructors; they are incredible mentors and role models. Barbs Center For Dance has had the pleasure to have Kevin, Brian and Daffi at the studio for Master classes and Choreography. Not only did they brace us with their high energy, but they came prepared to work with our dancers as if they were their own students. Giving the kids a warm and friendly environment, but also pushing them out of their comfort zone. Never a dull moment, the classes they provided were well rounded leaving our students wanting more with huge smiles on their face.
